I thought Drake Glover in Weyburn looked good in camp, and proved it Wednesday night with 3 points in Red Wings exhibition win vs. Estevan!

I've yet to actually see the Mils on the ice yet. My interest is kind of waning and I've been busy. Just been keeping my ear to the ground and picking up what I can. The newspaper coverage in Melville has officially reached the level of piss poor. No substance at all.
Constant is gone. Easy to see that one coming. Palmer is also gone, feez said he would have just been a backup anyway which is a bit odd since the starting spot was up for grabs at camp (allegedly).
Dalton Menke is apparently with the Mils. No word on the details yet. Par for the course with the SJHL.
Kirk Bear has been reassigned from Red Deer. It is looking like Fafard may be as well unless they decide to keep him as an overage forward. Long shot at this point. Should be a strong team defensively again.
Miles Manson is looking like another good find out of the states. Comes from the same program as Farrell and had better production as well.

In stars camp, defence looks solid with Statchuk,Erickson,Weston,Vermuelen,Yew, Fransoo,Sych,McKinlay.
Goaltending:
2011-2012 Manitoba midget aaa goalie of the year has been nothing but spectacular. Tremblay looks poised and very comfortable in goal.
The back up battle is between Ryan Rewerts, and Ontario goalie Michael Cullen who played in the telus cup behind Hofley.
Up front there are still lots of battles.. Will know more in the coming days.. Some very good Americans. Leonenko looked very good in camp but has got a wrist injury.

I took in the Mils game the other day. Pretty "meh" overall. About 6 or 7 players in the stands.
Fiesel has some thinking to do regarding defence, especially if we do end up getting Fafard from Red Deer. Right now he looks to have Sutherland as his spare and is using him up front. I'm not sure he really has the hands for it, Mack and Berreth are both better suited as forwards. At this point I think he's likely to keep 8 defensemen for sure. Bear was burnt a lot. I expected better but it is still early.
I don't even know who the other 2 of the 4 goalies still in camp are, but strictly from watching positioning and technique I don't think Manlow or Kuehn are capable of carrying a team with the way Fiesel leans on his goalies. Time will tell, but Fiesel usually finds a gem.
Fiesel has compared Miles Manson to Walz. I don't see it right now. Great vision and hands, but very different players.
The stand out for me was Tanner Kyle. Small defenseman out of Manitoba AAA. There's been comparisons to the Norrish boys. The skill set is certainly there. Plays the puck with a ton of confidence and sees the ice really well. Very likely to quarterback the powerplay.

Rumor is Dawson MacCauley has been re-assigned to the Yorkton terriers...

Looks like more than a rumor at this point. Huge for the Terriers.
Word is Brian Archibald and Austin Rediron have both walked out on OCN. Either would probably be an upgrade over what the Mils have in camp right now.

Took a while to get that sorted out. Apparently Menke was here on a trail basis initially and details were to be worked out later. I was thinking the price might be too high but and that's why Fiesel wasn't quick to put something together but in the end it is a decent trade for both teams.

One of them.....I believe it was Pashovitz was on a Facebook group called Goalie Gear Sl*ts United this summer inquiring about a junior league in the states. The general consensus was the league is a definite step down from the SJHL.
I found the fact that he was looking for a new opportunity to be a bit odd, particularly because just a few weeks earlier he had posted a picture of his new custom ordered Bronco colored Reebok gear for this season (sport gold base with forest green accents). This was shortly after Brockman was hired by the Blades so I couldn't help but wonder if that was a factor for some reason.

Did some research and it looks like Pashovitz found an opportunity in the USHL (Waterloo) so I'd imagine he could still return.
