And aside from a few major junior players to join club later this will largely be the club that will participate in the world juniors in Toronto at Christmas time. Be interesting to see how top junior A players will match up against Denmark. Will it be another team west with only 1 to zero sjhl players? Its a competitive tournament which has garnered a lot of attention and prestige since its early roots in Saskatchewan in its infancy. I agree that the best players have to be chosen regardless of league since that is what scouts and most fans want to see. There is a 17 year old d man in weyburn that is putting up good numbers, anyone else come to mind that should get an invite to team west camp? I'm thinking Austin calladine, maybe lance yaremchuk from the team I follow. Anyone wanna opinion in on the other teams and players who may stack up?, keeping in mind it is an "under 20" tournament and there is a 5 player limit on 19 year olds.so in essance players are under 19.

25 selected from BCHL..... and what 8 from SJ.......you know you almost think the SJ players can't compete at an elite level, unless of course its for a national JR A championship.......but cant help think SJ doesn't get a lot of respect sometimes... L4D

My guess would be scouting... where do you want to look at similar players in January flint flon, battlefords and kindersley vs pentictin or Vernon. The sjhl has a stigma around hockey that all it has is the drop offs of the dub I watched boys from all the major leagues out west and in central canada play and imho the sjhl produces some of the most well rounded players.

Honestly this has become a very elite tournament. Could be worse the sijhl has 3 tryouts out of 60 players and coaching staff could prolly justify zero from that league. The wjac is largely for players committed to division 1 schools already or NHL/future NHL draft picks and sadly, rightly or wrongly the scouts haven't identified very many of these players from the sjhl this year. I've heard that the sjhl is very much like a pro style of play unlike the bchl which resembles more closely college hockey

i would not disagree its far easier job to scout the bchl than the sj for the obvious reasons....sometimes scouts are like lemmings.....do you really need 20 a nite watching connor mcdavid....every nite. there is always a jaden schwartz or similiar hiding somewhere in the sj, get away from the crowd and maybe you'll find a gem. I hope an sj team wins the rbc again this year..... L4D

Seems the CJHL is actually slower at posting game summaries than the SJHL. Didn't think it could happen. Does any one know where we can find the results of the WJAC exhibition games?

It was a rough game, the Senior guys were sure physical with Denmark and it was great to see an international team willing to dish out back out. Denmark has some solid players playing some elite hockey, they should be a good team to watch all tournament. You definitely missed a good game in Rosetown, hopefully you will be able to catch some of the games this weekend in Kindersely.
