I believe the Klippers are also owed futures. So if that's the case, Oleksyn could very well wind up back in Kindersley the following season. Also, a new coach typically only has a couple of years to make an impression before his team's board decides whether he's worth an extension. So a few coaches making these picks this year likely won't be around to benefit from these selections, and that's IF the kids decide to play in the SJHL. I would be sorely tempted to trade picks for list prospects that might be good enough to play next season. Maybe that's the Klippers' plan and they know these kids will commit this summer as 17-year-olds.

they would have more of an opportunity with kindersley than they would with estevan. estevan hosting the wcc will be relying on 19 and 20 year olds.

The futures could very well see Oleksyn go back next season. But let's not kid ourselves into thinking a 1st rounder carries any sort of weight. Still surprised a team within the SJ has given Estevan so much.

According to the Estevan media, the futures will kick in if Oleksyn plays for Estevan as a 20-year-old.

I think a lot of people are underestimating the potential of the list prospects the Bruins had to give up in the deal, however, the trade does really help the team this year and next if Oleksyn returns for his 20 year. Also, we aren't loading up with the whole team.... just the top scorers

2 years ago Estevan had arguably the best top 6 forwards in the league with a great goalie and still looked like a rec team out there. No structure.

Last year that Bruins team really came together before Christmas, they were a young team that used the system to win games. Should transfer over to this season if everyone buys in.

Don't think this for one minute is all the deal, plus i believe Oleksyn requested a trade when the coach talked to him. I also would rather have proven SJ players than either bantam drafts, or WHL players who might or might not get sent down.
