hahaha. its only facts when you put something on here but when others do its rumours. funny, sometimes how the truth hurts when it hits home. A fan does not get 100% of the trades right before it's posted anywhere and everything else posted by you, that just does not happen unless you have close ties to the team and if not someone with the team has very loose lips!!!!!!!! Think what you want. Kitt was on his way Melfort when I posted it. I know his billet family, they were getting ready for his arrival. There's my source. Happy now. Do I know a lot of people involved with the team? Sure do. Do I know chow? Sure do.... Definitely not a board member let alone the president of the Mustangs though.

My guess is the Great 1 is as tied to the Mustangs as Someguy is to any team in the SJHL. Play nice now girls.

What happened in Battlefords last night, weak effort or outplayed? I still have Weyburn as a pretender at this point but maybe I'm wrong.

Weyburn played very well. Tight checking game. Didn't feel Battlefords crashed the net enough and didn't throw enough pucks on goal. Very few of the ones they did were grade A chances. Will be interesting to see how the AP's play tonight with Young,Delainey, Sych gone to the tryout camp.

North Stars also hit three posts last night, including with 25 seconds left right before Weyburn went down and hit the empty net. Any one of those goes in and who knows how the game turns out.

I just don't think they have enough fire power to run with the big boys over a seven game series. Battlefords going to have a tough test tonight against Notre Dame with a short bench but I'm guessing they pull out a win.

I heard that 1999 G Joel Gryzbowski will be starting between the pipes for Battlefords. Also 1999 Hulking defenceman Austin Shumanski will also be in the lineup too.

No Sych,Delainey and Young. No Rewerts, No Kevin. 5 underage players in the lineup and stars still win 5-2, with a 16 year old goalie in net.. How would other teams do if they lost a lot of there top guns?

Pretty sure all other teams would lose. The Stars are the only team that could win A Single game under these extreme conditions.
There is that what you wanted to hear 123?

What I find the most odd is 5 hrs before game time stars123 knows a 16 year old goalie is starting in net.... Pretty random if you're to ask me!!

I've been reading your posts stars 123, and quite honestly you may not realize this but the stars have only beat weyburn once out of 4x, and flinflon still has there number. I'm not saying that NB isn't the top team in the league, but they have lost to these 2 teams regularly because of hot goalies. They will have to beat either of these 2 teams when the time comes, and they will have to beat them in the goaltending dual. Not quite sure if that will happen, In any case it'll be fun to see how it plays out.

Taryn Kotchorek is having quite the season.. 4 shutouts and an 11-1 record. 1.62 G.a.a. .936 Sv%. Not bad for a kid that only played AA midget last season.

I agree with you Stars 123. I know this idea has been discussed some but I wonder if more kids will opt out of AAA due to the cost and play AA, especially in a town/area where there are SJHL teams knowing/hoping they will be picked up on their skill locally instead of having to showcase themselves in AAA I also see that Robidoux has 3 shut outs but 3 shoot out losses, Kotchorek has 4 shut outs and 2 shoot out losses. A quick glance at the goalie stats seems to show those with lots of shut outs have poor shoot out records. Anyone have a theory on this?

I'm not going to offer a theory, but I think you'd likely need to dig deeper into the details to see if there is any sort of correlation there. Look at the teams they are losing against in the shootout as opposed to the teams that they are shutting out.

Not going to steal his thunder, but I think you may be over selling katchorek and under selling nb defensive core. I think next time your watching nb, count the quality chances between the opposing clubs......quality chances.

But.. You look at Rewerts with the same defence.. His numbers are no where near what Kotchoreks are.. And it's not like Kotchorek has played the weaker teams.. He's beat Melfort,Weyburn (shutout, shootout loss) Nipawin and Laronge(shutout).

Not completely sold on Kotchorek either. Obviously he's been playing well, but a lot of credit needs to go to the team in front of him. In his 11 wins he's faced an average of 22 shots against per game. That's an average period for a guy like Joyce, who I would rather have in playoff series. Keep in mind when the Stars face a stingy team like Weyburn, they've went 1-4. That being said, I hope the kid proves me wrong and continues his pace. He's been a great story so far this season, and ya gotta love what he can do despite his size.

He is a kid that does play big. The question is can he be the guy to lead that team on when he faces a team with a elite goalie and proven scoring in both teams? They beat melfort 9 6 rewerts started, pulled, but they still found net. Melfort has bolstered there defense, so it will be interesting to see what takes place this week. The question is where's rewerts??

As good as Kotchorek has played, how did the aaa Stars miss this kid. Don't they take locals? Maybe Katchorek never even attended the aaa stars camp? The aaa stars don't take a lot of local talent they believe in a older team and that's what they fly with. He's snubbed a lot of locals, and those include kids within a 30 mile radius of NB. I just looked at his line up, there loaded with Regina kids.

From what I understand is he made the aaa stars but was told he would be back up. Played AA and started and played more games he would of as a back up in AAA.. He also filled in a few times as well for the aaa.

looks like another AP goalie is gonna be backing up the stars. Thomas Martineau. Are these auditions for next years team?

I think more than likely they are always looking for a extra kid who can push for a spot. Maybe there looking for someone who will in for the rest of the year if rewerts continues to stay out.

Wonder how much longer Rewerts is out for in NB......Don't care if others think he lost his starter role, maybe he was just in a rut, he can play and return as the starter.
