NHL has always added supplemental games due to hits. Can’t Duguay sit out his second game at the centennial? Please name one change from this years NHL playoffs because I have seen zero. Actually, please name one change in penalties in the the past 5 years of NHL playoffs made by off ice officials. I can name multiple SJHL changes in calls from this years playoffs alone. If you think the SJHL format of off ice officiating and supplementary discipline is a model to be revered, I will say that you are on a deserted island. Where did I say in the playoffs? Matt Rempe received an additional 4 game suspension for elbowing! That was a regular season hit. Are you implying that the playoffs should have a different format for reviewable major offences? Cause the whole regular season there was multiple games added to fictional penalties at times. And a new standard was set with letting off Duguay and lies for their penalties. Btw you should feel lucky, cause if duguays first major would have stuck he’d have received 4 games as a repeat offender. He gets 2 games, just won a championship, and you are saying the league needs to review his penalty again so he can go to nationals?? Not sure but if I’m on a deserted island so be it!

I think the NHL and a league where half the teams have to host farming fundraisers to keep the lights turned on are the same thing and should/can be officiated and directed identically.

I stand corrected. I forgot about the time the Rempire State Building was assessed a 5 minute major and game misconduct in game for elbowing a New Jersey devil player in the face and thus automatically under the purview of NHL player safety department. And yes he got a 4 game suspension. That is exactly the same thing. My bad.

Just wondering really what your complaint is? yes I catch the sarcastic reply, but your asking the league to remove a suspension that was a dangerous hit? Just cause the officials didn’t call this a penalty in the game? The ff team would have sent the clip in for the review, and seperate committee reviews it and handed the suspension out. This has happened all season and you want that to stop? Or just stop in playoffs? To me it sounds like Duguay hit shouldn’t be reviewed and no further suspension cause it wasn’t a penalty. Just give me a reason as to why you think this suspension should be overturned?

I have been watching the NHL finals every night this playoff season. Why have the NHL powers to be not once changed a penalty, added a penalty, deleted a penalty even once this first round of the playoffs in any series??? The SJHL is clearly onto something with their new format of making penalty calls hours and days later. Or maybe they are just “on something”. Let’s hope the SJHL powers to be get their heads out of their backsides and reduce the Duguay suspension to 1 game. And than maybestay out of the referee room for the years moving forward. No way a reduction of the suspension is going to happen. It is a CJHL regulated suspension for a major. Any attempt at this point would be considered tampering and deceitful. Not the look the SJHL or any league would want to have to explain. I have not seen the play so I can’t comment on it but once the league applies the penalty, be it a reduction, an addition of length or a video review of a non call for suspension, there is no turning back. Duguay will not play in the tournament opening game but that’s how the rule works. Mustangs will have to do what they have been doing through the finals, win games any way they can. Good luck’Stangs
