interested to see how he adapts with that whole line gone, not to say hes not good on his own, but that line definitely helped. Didn’t have to wait long lol, Bell shud improve the PP, right?

He’ll help for sure, not quite sure he’ll make the same noise without Doell and southgate, but good players will be available at the deadline that’ll improve this team.

The kid can score goals, he just needs someone to put it on his stick. There are a couple guys that should be able to get the puck to him. If not they will find someone. Kesserling scored 40 last year and without Doell and Southgate on his line, so I think Bell will do the same. Big confidence boost for the team with him returning.

With their impressive depth scoring, it'll probably take Bell 3 games to lead the team in goals and points.

It might take 4 games though, haha! Bell says he’s pumped to be back so we’ll see what he can do when he plays this week.

Would think Stars would have swept Humboldt with Bell in the line up.

Good news for the Stars, Bell is continuing where he left off getting his points per game. Very impressive to be in on 3/5 goals last night.
Bad news. He would have had to be in on 6/11 goals for a win.

North Stars had a lot of energy with him back, and despite the score last night they have gotten a lot better. Still coming back from this road trip with 4 points! 🙂

Now I know why he didn't stick in the dub. There was only one player by the name of Conner that could get away with only play 100 ft of ice. I do not think Bell came inside his own blue line the entire night.

looking forward to a good game tonight. Bruins are the better team on paper, Stars are the “reigning champs”. My prediction… it’ll be a quiet ride home for Battlefords after the Bruins tuck them in for the night at home.

I'm thinking it was a pretty happy, loud ride home lol Bruins might be better on paper but the Stars were better on the ice 🤷🏻♂️😂

It was a good game, and a lot closer than the score sheet indicated since two goals were empty netters. Bruins played good until the third period and just fell apart.
Did anyone catch what happened with the bruins “third goal” that they waved off? I was getting a drink and missed the action.

Praying that Marshall is ok. Scary scene watching his parents run to the dressing room after he went racing off and the ambulance not wasting time getting him out. Talked to a few people and no one seems to know what happened.

He will be ok, was very very lucky. He got quite a few stitches. The trainers from both teams did an amazing job taking care of him. It was a skate from his teammate that got him, as they both laid out to block a shot.

I do not think Bell came inside his own blue line the entire night. It is interesting to me that any team in the WHL would return a player of Bell’s calibre to JrA. To do that shows they feel Klimosko has not done his job in preparing this young man for the next level. However, I cannot believe that a coach of Klimosko’s calibre would overlook any detail that may hold back the development of one of his pupils, even one who scores like Bell. My guess - and this is only a guess - is that if Edm didn’t draft him, and he didn’t play there at 19, he had to be miles beyond the guys they did draft in order to stick. Obviously he wasn’t. Especially as a 20. And now he is where he should be.

Especially as a 20. And now he is where he should be. At the point of taking up one of the 3 overage spots on a WHL roster, teams are looking to fill that spot with the best 200', true leader type player who is going to make an impact every shift of every game. Teams are no longer about optics and keeping players they drafted. It's extremely common to see teams making trades or waiver pickups on 20 year olds and kicking their tires to see if they are a better fit than what they already have. It isn't uncommon to see players succeed at one level where the pace is a tad slower and get lost in the pack a level above. I've also seen a lot of players who had nice Major Junior resumes that you'd assume would put up the kind of numbers Bell has in the SJHL and they never rise anywhere near that level of success. Same thing happens between Junior A and Junior B.

He seems better without his line mates from last year, mind you he’s a year older, stars are getting stronger imo, klimosko is proving his worth!

How about Hawco? Absolutely unflappable in his last two games against Weyburn. Smaller and less polished than Maric, but could he be the guy to start down the stretch when a calm presence in the crease is needed?

Oh yes he looked very impressive today after getting shelled with 19 shots!! Lol And his 3.26 GAA and .890 SP are the stats legends are made of.

He saved 29 shots. The score sheet only shows one shot in the 3rd period which is incorrect.

My sincerest apologies. No I did not actually watch the game. I had no idea they peppered Hawco with 30 shots. Facing that many shots I'm sure he looked like Denis Lemieux in the room after the game.

Are you discrediting his ability to play and be effective? Or are you mocking a previous poster about him not being that great cause of his #s. I’ll point out that Laser-Hume has a .912 avg on a team that has the lowest shots against in the league, compared to Marquette who has a .937. So does that make laser that much less of a tender? A lot of factors vs teams = gga, but I would be promoting Marquette imo, he is the better tender!

Oh yes Kenny is by far playing better of late. Unflappable in his last game vs Weyburn. Smaller and less polished than Laser, but could he be the guy to start down the stretch when a calm presence in the crease is needed?

No Bell last night! What up? Hurt, quit, traded to the Bombers, playing for cash in a senior league, back to dub, arms exhausted from scoring…Just wondering! Not like the stars missed him… or did they miss him?
