Watched a youtube on Seattle. Pretty interesting history. Founded in 1915, Won the Stanley cup in 1917 but weren't in the NHL. Originally named the Metropolitans, then the Eskimos, then SeaHawks, then Olypians, then Ironmen, then Bombers, then Americans, then - almost named the Jets but decided on Totems, then the Breakers and now the Thunderbirds. Guyle Fielder grew up in Nipawin went on to Seattle and was the 3rd highest scoring player in pro history, 1 yr as a Bomber, 3 as an American and 11 as a Totem - averaged more than 1 pt per game for every of the 15 seasons.
Taran Kozun born and raised in Nipawin played for Seattle, won the WHL goalie of the year 2015.
2 all stars, both played minor hockey in the same town, played in the same city, at opposite ends of the ice.
The Town of Nipawin will be naming a street in Fielder's honor this summer!!
