The Ice are going to move, but I highly doubt they are moving to Estevan LOL

If Estevan did get the ice.....would that be the end of the Bruins in Estevan? Maybe the Warman Bruins?
I hope this doesn't happen. The Bruins in Estevan is great for the SJHL.

Talk of the organization’s poor standing within league circles is rampant, with rumours flying about where the team could land next: Chilliwack, B.C.? Wenatchee, Wash.? Estevan, Sask.?

Yeah a 2,700 seat arena is no where near the capacity a CHL team needs

I can see it being a long shot, Wenatchee makes sense. Why mention Estevan in the article??

Some media types throw things out there just to provoke conversation. In this case, Estevan and their facility are still somewhat fresh on the media's minds after the Centennial Cup and I assume that probably is where the suggestion came from.

Wenatchee probably makes the most sense. The rink the Wild play in holds 4600. Is that big enough?
Not sure what that does to the balance of the divisions, but I don’t really see another logical landing spot in MB or SK. Will have to be out west.

I get Media making the narrative, but a Winnipeg reporter isn’t just going to toss out Estevan unless it’s been discussed. They don’t know much outside of Winnipeg let alone a Sask community. Makes you think why a WHL ex game was played there this year…makes you wonder if there is actually any traction to that.

Wenatchee is the only USA team and I know it’s expensive for the BCHL teams to head to Wenatchee for games. I’m sure they won’t be disappointed to see them leave to the Dub. Makes the US division a little beefier. Tri City / Wenatchee rivalry

If for some wild reason this came true, would the bruins be relocated? We wouldn’t have both teams I imagine. I’ll be annoyed, I have a lot of bruin merch lol

Imo this is just a neat idea to talk about for a few weeks. No way in my mind is this worth Interrupting the history and legacy of the Bruins. Maybe , I say maybe if the JrA Bruins move up to the whl it becomes part of their history but bringing in an outside team and essentially tossing the JrA Bruins is not good in my confused mind. PA survives in 4000 fans capacity but really, how?

Big sponsorship money in Estevan, if they were close to selling out that rink every night their attendance wouldn’t be the worst in the Dub… it isn’t the worst possibility that’s for sure. I would be very worried what would happen if the economy really tanked though, I think there would be less room for error in Estevan. And then if they also lose the Dub do they get an SJ team back? I think the city would probably rather just keep the SJ team.

Winnipeg had never supported a dub team, they aren’t even supporting the jets to capacity. It’s just not a major junior town. And ownership of the Ice appear to double speak, paint big pictures and promises they don’t keep. New arena, not, given up most draft picks for next several years to go all in this year. Really Bruins fans, I don’t think you could even dream about this titanic hitting the ice berg in Estevan. You got a good thing goin right now.
