I know this is off topic but thats what this board is for. What does everyone think of the "New" Saskatchewan Roughriders team? Tillman made a lot of moves in the off season and will these moves be good for the team? I thought last year the riders were lacking a punter, Congi was the best field goal kicker altho his long punts were not the best. I think bringing in Boreham might be a huge move for the riders. Also i think it was a mistake letting Big Nate go. He is a big guy that is extremely effective. Also Bringing in Flick is another big move, and Bringing in Fred Russell to replace the departure of Keith is a big move as well. Tell me what you think.

I think the team will be more entertaining this year than last even though having to cut loose alot of talent due to cap issues. I'm hoping the new faces and possibly fewer run ins with the law will lead this team back to being sold out almost everygame and a winning record from a team that puts out a full effort every game. I dont think we got that last year.

Real football doesn't start until the week after Labour Day and it is called the NFL. Sorry Stars 123 the CFL is a joke I don't follow it I don't care about it. Just my opinion

Also i think it was a mistake letting Big Nate go. He is a big guy that is extremely effective. Big Nate at the $130,000 he was going to get from the 'Riders was not gonna happen. Besides he's hardly the player he was even 3 years ago. His $60,000 contract with Winnipeg should tell you that.

It is a shame he has taken himself for granted and lost his "football" in shapeness. He is overweight and has lost a step.

Nate was a big boy no doubt, but have u really ever stood with him and had a convo? He actually isn't fat, he is a tank and is very built. I have talked with him and stood beside him at a northstar game a few years ago.

A few years ago isn't why he is released now. He is NOW overweight and cannot play at the pace he once did.

Ahh, the one thing that I think 99% of us can all agree on!!!
I'm not a big fan of Eric Tillman for some reason. He just has this weasel like quality to him. Yes, he has won Grey Cups but there is something I don't like about the guy!!!
As for Kent Austin coaching, great move!!! The man has a passion for winning. A couple of seasons ago, TSN did a show that had the behind the scenes of Agro training camp and I was impressed with Kent's enthusiasm and attitude. He's there to win not to create a 'culture' like Roy Shivers did.
I loved Roy but he had some other agendas that he was more concerned about and if anybody had seen the CBC documentary on Roy will know what I'm talking about.

I agree with you on Tillman. Kind of just gets to me. Weasely, or snakey, I don't know.
Austin = I hope a good move. Passion for winning, good call. Do you think Pinball knew how to coach when he took over and did well, I think his riddlin' ass, too much red bull just rubbed off on the players.

I don't know if anyone likes tillman that much, but lets all be honest when your in a business that winning is basically the priority you want a guy with a proven track record. Tillman can make a team into a winner and he knows his players. I didn't know that being a GM is a popularity contest. The Saskatchewan Roughriders will be contenders this year. And i think when you have fans like Saskatchewan does, we deserve a winning team. Tillman is the right guy to have for the time being. The locker room needed some new scenery in it.
