Regina seems to have given up this year and getting rid of old guys for young ones. Could leave him Nipawin and look At more young guys in regina He is going for sure. Said his thanks on twitter: Connor Hobbs @chobbs15 Thank you to the @nipawinhawks1 for having me at the cage the last month, now very excited to be a part of the @whlpats organization!! Retweeted by Regina Pats Hobbs will be in Pats lineup Wednesday: The Trades The Pats took centre stage in the WHL, shaping their team for the future by trading 19 year olds Morgan Klimchuk, Kyle Burroughs, Dryden Hunt and Connor Gay in recent days. With the movement, the Pats injected talented youth into their lineup with Jesse Gabrielle, Connor Hobbs and Jake Leschyshyn all joining the organization. Gabrielle has already made his Pats debut while Hobbs suits up in the Blue and White for the first time come Wednesday. Leschyshyn is a 15 year old prospect who is eligible to play five games for the Pats this season until his Midget AAA season comes to an end.

Caught the game in Melfort last night. Again, Melforts speed and depth was too much for Nipawin. Nipawins D, although big can't handle speed; and what's the deal with O'brien? He's had two sub par performances in a row in huge games. I understand Flodell played very well against the hounds, although he lost 2-1, and played well in relief against Melfort a week ago. How is he not getting more net?

3rd overall to 3rd in division in 10 days. Tough start to 2015 couple of Melfort blow outs even with Schmyr not reffing. THe poweful offence has scored 3 in last 3 and power play is terrible again. Losing Hobbs at deadline and no Seamans on roster like Fans were talking about, actually losers at deadline. Will Doug on bench be enough to right the ship or are we in NEXT YEAR land again.

There is need for concern with the post christmas success - or lack there of. but I don't think moving from 3rd to 5th overnight is a huge concern in the SJHL. most teams can jump or fall 3 -4 spots in a weekend when the points are as close as they are. They could also jump back into 3rd with a single win. I didn't watch pettapiece to much or know much about him but I am kind of miffed the Hawks didn't get him. Can't complain about the price unless he is a total cancer. Not saying he is - I don't know. Have a feeling he might get pretty good benefits for playing the last 2 month in FF. Perhaps a few 50/50's with his name on it. Perhaps all that comes from a conversation with Blanke where he was perhaps to open.

Flodell is gone to Seattle for the rest of the season. Better hope O'Brien doesn't get hurt!

Ya - terrible news. I thought if a player was in the SJ on Jan 10th they were there for the rest of the season. Does someone who knows more about the WHL have comment on how this works? Will he be an AP for the remainder of the season? Is he only allowed a certain number of games as an AP? Is there magic in the words " re-assigned" compared to released? Could Milan and Prednichuk be pulled up from Melville? Is that a risk the Mils take?

I'm pretty sure after the Jan. 10th deadline a player can go up only as an Ap.. It's also possible that he was signed as a free agent.. I believe in the SJHL after the jam.10 deadline you still have like a month that you can sign players if they are a free agent and if you have any cars left.. As an Ap Once his SJHL team is done he can spend the rest of the season with them.

I'm pretty sure because he went up to a higher league, the Hawks will receive an additional card to sign a goalie. Had he gone the other way, they'd be SOL.

I was told that he was eligible to return if the guy he was replacing recovered from injury or the Ams were out of playoffs before the Mils, but the arruracy of that was never really confirmed as far as I remember. I suppose Lipon could bolt if given the opportunity. Doubt Predinchuk would though, he apparently wanted so stay last season but was heavily pressured to go to Portland. He left Portland on his own accord this year, so obviously he know knows where he stands in the WHL and has no interest in riding pine.

I see the Hawks now have Declan Hobbs on their roster. Now are the Saskatoon Contacts are short their #1 goalie for the rest of the year or he just an "AP"? Is it only goalies that this can happen to after the deadline? Sure is to bad that all lower leagues are hurt by callups but good for the player to get a chance and it gives someone else a chance to move up

Hobbs was listed as an AP Tuesday night. I doubt Johnson would use a goalie who has a game scheduled for the same night if there was any way around it. I know he tries to pick forwartds who are not in games. Should expect Hobbs in the black and Gold Friday. Time will tell. The Hawks and Contacts only play on the same night twice for the rest of the season. Feb 7 and Feb 8. He could play for both other than my understanding is you can only AP 10 times then you can't come up - however. Does that apply to goalies who never see ice time?

I know in minor hockey it is only games that an AP goalie actually plays in counts towards his 10 games allowed. Do the Hawks have any other gialies in their system who could dress as once playoffs start it is tough to find dates that they won't both be playing also it would be hard for a kid to dress and travel as much as Hobbs would have to if he dressed for both

The roster page on the SJHL Hawks website shows Jesse Fontain as a carded player. Apparently you can pick up a free agent anytime you have cards available. The HAwks only had 22 on cards before Flodell left.

Since the thread for Doug Johnson is locked I guess I'll try throwing this out here. I have emailed the CJHL 3 times asking if they could direct me to a website or provide me with a copy of the CJLH Coaches Manual. Only got 1 reply and they indicated they had no clue what I was asking for. So that creates a question. How does the SJHL suspend a coach for breaching the CJHL coaches manual when the CJHL doesn't know what the manual is or if it exists. And why are some suspensions listed on the Discipline report and others not? The more time I spend near this league the more it stinks like fish.

Man you nipawin people are hard done by. Why don't you ask your coach, I'm sure he's aware or has a copy. Do you honest think there is no code of conduct in place for coaches? Maybe the smell is coming from the tiest rink in the league?? Just saying....

I am starting to this there isn't a written policy. The CJHL won't produce it. If it does exist why do they not let people read it?
But I agree with your research strategy - Start locally then move up the ladder and ask on the way. Thats what I did. And when no one along the way has ever heard of such a policy, or can provide one, then you start to think there might not be one. So you ask the president of the organization who named the policy and they come up empty also.
This isn't a defense of the Nipawin coach's actions. It just exposes a little light on the shady areas.
Maybe this needs to be brought down to a level more can understand. How would you react if your coach was suspended by the SJHL for breaching the the Doghide River coach's policy. Even if he didn't spit when he said Willerton? Honestly the policy exists, but you can't have it. Honestly -

I wonder if it's not hockey Canada? I'm betting that the cjhl abides by their rules? I believe they forced the new fighting rules on the league/cjhl etc. might be another place to check.

Contact the SHA, they will provide you with all the information you are looking. It is Hockey Canada coaches manual, or coaches code of ethics you are looking for. But by-golly, your a tool. Why you are searching this out is beyond me, I hope they make you pay for it, like coaches and referees have to.

It's true Hockey Canada does administer all jrA teams in Canada, but still that does not mean they can or will provide the info you are looking for. As a bureaucracy hockey Canada does lots of things well, but again,it's true, their internal directory for information is abominable, meaning they have the info, they just can't find it. Sigh!!!!, you will find what your looking for if you persevere. Good luck......and gods speed. (Based on some personal experience while looking for info, took literally 3 years, several dead ends, stalls, calls emails never returned etc.) L4d

For L4D - The Hockey Canada manual has a section on code of conduct for parents and another section on code of conduct for administrators. The latter section is not dealing with coaches as it refers to the administrators providing for the coaches and players ets. So it is more toward the executive, staff and boards of teams and associations. There area few remarks toward the coaches rquired education and fair play etc but nothing about conduct.I did not read the entire document. I used the glossary and read the sections I thouhgt might apply.
But this is Hockey Canada not the CJHL manual.

Start your timer.....you will find it, the CJHL is a dead end on this IMO ( I can use IMO now cause I figured it out what it stands for recently.....today). But uhmm was wondering if you liked my Avatar (I know what that is too now), it's up there with snipe44's IMO.......lol......oh god I gotta go (ogigg) L4D

I hate cliches just abit more than these "save a letter" abbreviations thingies texters have invented. The worst cliches are those "make you feel good ones" like - "everythings good" BUT everything is good. Onetimer asked for profiles tech tips and that motivated L4D to photo share, exsposing a bit of his personal life!!!! I can't help but thinking the 2 are related, not the 2 people - I mean the 2 moves.
av·a·tar ˈavəˌtär/ noun noun: avatar; plural noun: avatars
1. Hinduism a manifestation of a deity or released soul in bodily form on earth; an incarnate divine teacher. an incarnation, embodiment, or manifestation of a person or idea. "he chose John Stuart Mill as the avatar of the liberal view" 2. Computing an icon or figure representing a particular person in computer games, Internet forums, etc.
Since were on a forum we'll use door number 2

L4D I GOT IT - In record time - no hard feeling I hope! Straight from the pres of the CJHL. The CJHL Coaches Code of Conduct is the exact title Coaches have a responsibility to : 1 -- 2 -- 3 -- 4 -- Refrain from public criticism of fellow coaches, athletes, officials and volunteers at all times.
Hey everyone - don't rag on me. I knew all along it was not right to "dis" a ref publically but I needed to see the law for my own to know it was punishable. Case closed IMO. Sorry, in a previous post I refered to "outside" as "onetimer" - but since he is almost a "firsttimer" can I have grace for my "no brainier" Bring on the Avatars
