Congrats to Terriers for a successful sjhl season hopefully can carry it farther into Western Canada Cup and RBC Good luck Terriers.. Wanting to comment on brewersdroop comment on Melville having 19 players eligible to return. If teams have 25 cards and max 8 20 year olds every team has at least 17 players eligible it is not who returns it is who returns and is better quality over quantity
The 20 year old max is dressed and not carded. 19 year old NCAA commitments are also a factor.
Not necessarily benthere as teams could have a ton of 19 year olds meaning some moves would have to be made. Also I believe it is 7 20 year olds next year? Correct me if I am wrong. But yes, the right guys returning (plett being a big one) will be key. Nice that the younger guys were put into crucial roles for a long playoff run. That is huge
When the change was announced back in 2012, it stated the 12-13 season was to reduce to 8 and the 13-14 season was to reduce to 7. However, I found several teams that dressed (8) 20 year olds in playoffs this year. Was the rule not carried out, teams cheating.....I don't know. BTW, this was Plett's 20 year old season. My count on the returnees for the Mils is 18, as I'm under the impression Matt Cameron won't be back. 9 potential returnees will be 20 next year, and there is potential for Trombley to return as well as the possibility of getting Calder Brooks or Devan Fafard in a Mils uniform as well. Moves will likely be made.
