Well, I consider myself an optimist but apparently anyone who can leave the bombers is and they are all BIG players over 6 feet with good skills:-( . to the NAHL, WHL, retirement etc. However I don't expect any of the WHL guys to stick around with exception of Ingram in kamloops and maybe the NAHL guys but not for certain. It sounds like even if they eventually are returned to FF they may not report. I have no problem with guys leaving for greener pastures but Lindros really started a trend with all these divas now that don't report or demand trades. Bobby Clarke always insists that a player should honor his contract or team it really speaks to character and it is not a good habit to Quit on your team or not honor contracts.

According to their last update on the website, Ingram is in Kamloops, Roach is in PA, Yaremchuk is in Prince George, Callidine is in Swift Current. A few guys left for the NAHL. I think they have enough top end players left to compete, plus a pretty nice war chest from the NAhl to pick up some pieces once they figure out what they need.

Yaremchuk will make his whl club, Ingram will likely stick in Kamloops, roach is likely to play at least half the season with PA, and Calladine was traded for, so he is likely gone.
The NAHL guys are not coming back, they are going to make those clubs.
Menke asking for a trade is interesting. This should make for an interesting story, his value is not worth the trade he was involved in.
If for some reason Yaremchuk does not make his club, this team inherits the top AAA prospect for Junior this year. I had many chances to watch him play, and he is above average. I heard he grew an inch or two and filled out. Puck possession specialist with a dandy shot, doubt he gets past the coaching staff out there.

As a fan it kind of sucks seeing guys look at alternative opportunities. I know as a Mils fan seeing Trombley and Predinchuk move on in recent years was tough, but understandable given they were moving to a higher level of hockey. I know most of us would move on to a job with higher pay or better future opportunities if we had the chance and it is unfair to condemn players for doing so.
That said, I have little respect for players who hold teams hostage because they feel they are too good to play for whatever team has their rights. Realistically (IMO)there are 4 reasons a player would be traded. The first is they simply need a change of scenery to get away from distractions. The second is they are a marginal player and the GM is giving them a second (and better) opportunity to show what they've got with a team that could benefit from their skill-set. The third is they are capable of playing at that caliber of hockey but the GM saw better value in trading them for a more urgent need. And lastly, they are such a good hockey player that the team used them as a futures deal: their GM felt they were integral to a playoff run but valuable enough to bring in assets to help them in the present. Generally speaking, managers act in the best interests of players even if it isn't always of benefit to their team, so players should embrace the opportunity before them.
I think the trade Fiesel made 2 seasons ago kind of illustrates this. I can't condemn Wakaluk for moving on to a higher level of hockey in the NCAA instead of going to La Ronge. I know Sagen had little desire to play for the Ice Wolves but still came out to play and gave them an opportunity to move him to a team with a better shot at winning while getting something back. As far as Trudeau goes, I was pretty high on him as a player but seeing him turn his back on the SJHL only to play in the MMJHL lost him a lot of my respect. He didn't better himself as a player, individually or as part of a team and he showed a selfish side to himself as a hockey player.

Has everyone from the deadline and summer deals reported? Any solid signings outside of the top couple not heading for major junior? Who's heading south?

I see the Bombers had a solid pre-season and I hope they do well this year. I haven't been to a game at the Whitney Forum in a few years, but what a great place to watch hockey! As an aside, I watched some Keystone Cup (Jr. B Nationals) in St. Malo in 2013 and the B.C. team that won was very good - great goaltending, skilled PP and PK and they pumped the Saskatoon Royals twice. I know one guy was drafted by Boston a year later (Heinen) and FFs Dean Alison played on that team - he was excellent too - great to see him in the SJ!

Yup train is standing room only right now with 27 players on the roster as of today. Any idea when this number has to drop? And how many can each team Carr? Still, the bombers are waiting on word from a few players away at WHL camps, who may yet return to the club as players at NHL camps slowly trickle back to the dub. Realistically I think the bombers may get calladine back (mainly BC he is a 95 birth date not because he can't play at that level, I'll be surprised if the numbers game don't get him in the end, though I never wish bad on any player it would be a huge addition to the club. I still think Curtis roach will be assigned to the sjhl the question now is do they have a spot for him?, the d core is very solid so he may be trade bait or go to AAA. I hope he sticks with the whl. I doubt Ingram will be back and even if he was sent down he is too good to sit on the bench so something would have to give with him and hofley,1 would have to go:-( . I don't see yaremchuk coming back as prince George has a pretty weak roster and they need all the help they can get! Any thoughts? Interested to see if anyone has any insights or inside knowledge on the bomber rookies? Any gems or division 1 calibre rookies?

watched the raider/blades game tonight. I have no idea why the blades got rid of Harland. unless there was something more than just his play on the ice. if not he may be happy because I think the blades are in for a long year. as for roach, he won't be coming to bomber land. he will end up back in aaa, he had a rough night but who knows, it wouldn't be the first time the raiders surprised everyone.

Listened to the Royals and Blazers game last night and noticed that Ingram was sat out. The other 17 year old was on the bench behind Pouliot so you never know!

On Harland, it seemed every one in Saskatoon had a different opinion. They either loved him or hated him. Hope he can contribute with a lot of energy and on the score sheet. If he had an edge with the blades, he'll find another gear in the maroon and white playing in front of the Whitney faithful.

Choo choo. The train is back with another Dub cut. Welcome Austin Calladine. And Harland looks like he may be a crowd favorite this year at the Whitney.

That is a huge pickup, beyond huge. I am not sure how he did not make it in the WHL? He is going to end up in Red Deer eventually, but in the meantime, welcome to Flin Flon!!

What the heck....who is gonna leave then, where does Pederrsen fit back in the line up, these are good problems, he should have three scoring lines. Pull it all together, make it work as a team, get better as the season goes on. Hope its the year of the Bombers. L4D

Coach Reagan has good problems on both defense and forwards. Right now all 8 dmen remaining are above average players I would not want to part with a single one that being said a team simply can't carry 8 dmen all season, I'm just hoping mike can get something in return for the 1 he parts with. At forward I believe there are now 16 so 2 have to go dunno who. Even tho Garrett and Ackerman are depth players I am guessing they will be saved due to them being local and it never hurts to have some local flavor. Too bad to see waniek go he had good numbers as a 17 yr old in the BC last year, that being said more then a few good players have not been able to adjust to the sjphysical, older style of grind. So who goes? Cohan? St. Onge? All good players and non will deserve the fate that awaits them:-( .....thoughts or insight as I have not seen them play, any one-dimensional players that are a liability or make the coaches job easier? And I would think the team needs to have 3 to 4 lines getting regular ice time to make a team with a lot of talent work otherwise I think players will look elsewhere if they see an opputunity for more ice time on another club. It is even more important now to have TEAM players because some may have to understand they may get less ice time then they are used to....within reason. There is no excuse for the coach to roll only 2 lines with the caliber of players....that IMO is where trouble starts and players start heading home....

Depth in goal? Really surprised that Reagan hasn't given their back up a go yet. It's hard for a coach to tell early on what every team is going to bring to the table but there have been a few games I thought he might see some ice. If he keeps building it up, the kids going to be a nervous wreck, although, it's looking like it will come on their 4 game swing down south as opposed to a home date at least. There a lot of clubs with an incredible amount of depth in goal so maybe he'll make a move when everyone else has decided what piece they're missing toward the first deadline. Although, with that said I wouldn't be shocked to see Ingram sent down either as he's only played 60 minutes with the Blazers and less than the other young kid he's battling with.

Would the bombers entertain the notion of moving 1 of the remaining dmen to the wing at forward? Just to keep them?, maybe 1 of the 17 year olds?

Ingram and Yaremchuk, some have said these players have a skill level that may attract attention from USHL, BCHL etc. Given the shots against the Bombers on any given night could be 38 plus, maybe a little tradin for a shutdown Dman or two. At this time scoring is not an issue, goals against are...just tossin it out there. Seems like the high end SJ champ teams employ 3-4 top end Dmen. Or maybe the Bombers have that and it just has to gel??? L4D

defense wins championships. Either the defense needs to gel and get it together. the goalie needs to be a game steeler. if not then they need a couple of shut down defensemen. because it is obviously that the team is giving up way too many goals. may need some fine tuning.
