There's some senior hockey leagues in Saskatchewan that have lots of Ex WHL'ers, AHL'ers, Junior A Players that play pretty competitively.. Some of these teams Have ap players on there lineups.. These ap players are usually young kids.. My question is if young kids are playing in these leagues what is it comparable to?? With ex AHL and WHL, junior A, one would think it is a pretty high level of hockey?

I would guess it would probably vary anywhere from Junior A to Junior C dependant on the size of the town. Depth is the biggest factor and most teams really only have one strong line with Junior or Major Junior experience, then beyond that is a lot of guys who played midget AA or lower.

Thanks. I was just looking at a leagues top scorers and all top 10 scorers in the league played at least junior A.. Then I looked at another and it was the same story.. I just found it weird we never see these AP guys playing on SJHL teams.. If they are playing with players of that caliber you would think they'd be decent in junior A. Playing with men and not boys.

It all really depends stars123. Sometimes the effort level isn't always there but come playoff time it's really fun to watch. The Allen Cup is unreal hockey and it be hard for a kid with just junior a hockey experience to make... I heard a story a couple years back that the Shelbrook team had every guy play atleast pro hockey or in Europe... That's not a bad rep to have no matter the effort level.

Could the best teams in Sr Hockey beat a Jr A team, yes absolutely, could the best team in Sr hockey beat the best Jr A team, I'd give the edge to the Jr club. It's just faster hockey than at the Sr level.

shellbrook had a very good team but not all played pro hockey or in europe. i know several of those players and for the most part all of them have some sort of junior experience but definitely not all.
