Stars 123 you must have better things to do than read the Nipawin Journal, like read well anything else. Don't put much faith in the details of the Journal. It is a nice headline paper to get the idea across but the facts and details are often not - well factual or detailed. They have nice pictures though. And if Beaverstreet likes to golf why is on here reading the forum when the grass is growing? Have a good summer everyone. d**n rights, and i'm golfing Evergreen on Friday. I could attend the probably utterly exhilarating first ever SJ draft, but, I might just go watch my own dandelions grow in the front yard.

I can't remember it being discussed, are the results of the draft going to be made public? If so, that's about the only factor of this new process that is of interest to me. According to the Estevan Bruins' Twitter feed, results will be made available round-by-round on the SJHL's website beginning at 10:00 am (although I notice Bill Chow mentioned a 10:30 am start on Twitter). So it looks like they're going to give us the names, unless they plan on saying stuff like this: "The Yorkton Terriers made the first overall selection . . . . and it was a dandy."

Some interesting picks.. Will be interested to see how many of these kids play in the SJ for the team that drafted them. Could be some steals in the last round..

Why do teams take a pass on their last pick? Wouldn't it be benificial to pick someone/anyone?

I don't think there are enough quality kids to make a draft of 6 rounds in Sask. Remember all of the auto-protects are already taken and a couple who will probably play in the dub and teams may shy away from them. Also did all teams have room for that many on their list. Maybe left a spot or two so they could list a late bloomer out of midget or an out of province kid.

It's more of an issue with the list. Teams had to open spots for those guys so if you have a solid list, you may not want to dump six guys off to make room for a 15 year old that won't play for at least two years.

If they had no room on list, You'd think they would trade a pick so they could get something for it. Rather than not picking and losing a pick.

Takes two to tangle. For all we know those who passed tried but could not find a trade partner.

You look at the WHL draft, mind you they go WAY more rounds but teams make passes on draft picks there as well, mostly issues with numbers left on their lists.
