I am new to this forum and have read through lots of the comments. I watch about half the FF games live and half on Flo. I think it is pretty simple for FF. FF has 7-8 players that get the bulk of the opportunities(PK, PP, 4vs4, 3vs3 etc) and time on ice. These players based off toi and opportunity "need" to be the best players on the ice every night in order for the team to be successful. (Justin Lies, Alexi Sylvestre, Jacob Vockler, Noal Houl, Carter Anderson, Anthony Piccininno, Adam McNutt, Harmon Laser-Hum). The players listed are generally getting 20+ mins a game(and in Lasers case plays almost double vs Marquart) . I am not saying its wrong or right, just pointing out an observation. As far as the rest of the players on the roster when you break it all down they are getting 4th line mins and to expect more from them seems kind of bizzar to me at this point. It is what it is and looking back the direction was set at the beginning of the season and really hasn't changed. I think all that is left is to hope for the best, cheer and ride it out and see where things fall. Hopefully there is a championship at the end of it all for FF.

Stangs whooped the bombers. Made Mike nervous, no doubt about it. This is a reactionary move, same move Mike has pulled before and failed. You can dress 8 20’s. Once you leave the province you can dress 9. I know the mustangs did this the year they went to RBC. That’s the way it used to be anyway. Usually a 20 year old who’s injured or who won’t play as much agrees and is put on a Jr. B card. Then they have a ten game max until their Jr. B teams season is over. I can tell you this wasn’t a reaction to loosing to the Stangs. That’s laughable with the gains he made. You don’t react with 4 losses on the season. Sure he could’ve stood Pat but why would you when you can get even deeper. why wasn’t Mueller in the lineup against the Hawks or Stangs after a 3 week break? Hmmm. Great hard working kid but pretty hard to stick as a 20 on a Squad like the Bombers. Everyone in town knew Mike had some big irons in the fire and I’m sure the players were feeling the pressure. Ashton Paul put up slightly less than a point per game. That’s pretty good but when you grab Anthony Bax (2003)the top dman out of the Mjhl that’s a point per game in return I’d say it’s a win. Cash for Lathlin I’d call a win for Lathlin getting to go play in front of his hometown. He’ll get lots of ice time. Add Jerome Gilbert (2004)from the Mjahl at a point per game. Add Smith (2003) who had 70 pts in the Mjhl last year and 14 pts in the NAHL this year. Add Keefe Gruener (2004)from Fort McMurray at a point per game. Top it off with young Connor Ryan on the backend with 4 points in 16 games. Mike gained around 4 1/2 points per game in players a gave up just over a point per game. It’s insane the depth he added!!! As for the junior B cards. There isn’t the same need to put players on Junior B cards with now being able to roster 25 players instead of 23.

Well with playoffs just around the corner I have to pull my head out of the mine shift and be realistic. I have to admit I now have a little bit of concern for my beloved Bombers. It is not Nic Cage level of concern yet. Probably more a few pints on the patio.
They seem to play well for about 2/3s 3/4s of games. Get lots of chances. But most everyone is a little snake bitten right now. Even Laser. The D needs to make smarter plays with the puck and limit their giveaways. And the forwards need to stop being so selfish and play good smart hockey and play as a team.
I am NOT giving up on them. I'm just hoping playoff hockey brings out the best in them!
Good luck boys!!!!

Good luck boys!!!! Oh you're not alone in your worries. Sadly, the Bombers are ripe for the picking. They might get out of Round 1 and that could be it, unless a couple of massive upsets occur. Their ONLY saving grace might be that they have home ice advantage. The defense do make terrible passes with great regularity and for all of the offensive fire, it has mostly gone cold. Sylvestre being the only consistent one lately. Harmon looked bad in the shootout against Estevan and sure didn't sound great last night. I took haven't given up hope, but I am worried. But this team likes to limp or struggle heading into playoffs in recent times and then usually get serious and go on runs. However, in those runs they were always the hunters and not the hunted.

Bomber fans have little optimism. I can’t disagree. I will be impressed if they get back on the right track. A lot of bad habits to break down. Comes down to one on one battles for the puck and pursuing loose pucks. Bombers don’t do that anymore. Pretty simple! It’s a mind set. I’m sadden im gonna miss whatever playoffs we do get at the Whitney. Not sure if my mental health could handle it anyway lol! Go Bombers go Do the hardest thing ever! Hopeful L4D

Hopeful L4D I think FF issues aren’t as deep as one “fan” may think. My nephew took me to the game, I thought both teams played well, just looked like broncos were a bit more determined! I think your team is deep, but sometimes that’s an issue, especially the 3/4 lines. Hard to keep top end guys playing lower minutes satisfied. If they aren’t doing the heavy lifting on those lines the top 2 get extra pressure and extra fatigue. Every team has to buy in, they probably have a series to do it before the tougher hockey starts. It’s just a observation by myself, could be totally wrong, correct me if you wish!

Unfortunately didn’t get to watch all this weekend’s games because Humboldt didn’t have the feed on Flo again. Caught some on Facebook live. Hopefully they get that fixed for playoffs.
Playoff’s are here and ultimately it’s up to the players if they want to step up their game and buy in. From what I’ve seen in the last month there’s been a few players that think they know better and want to do their own thing. As far as I’m concerned. Put them in the stands then. Lots of guys want in the lineup. Too many turnovers at the blue line by the same vet d- man. Let Yak make the smart simple play. Let some players watch Sylvester work his bag off the whole 200ft of the ice game in and game out. Here’s to also hoping Anderson is back in the lineup.
Time is here. No more time to piss around!!!

Huge gap between kindersley and flin flon. I wouldn’t get too excited about that win. I would say it’s at bare minimum exactly what should happen … I can’t wait for the second round. Such a big gap between top 4 and the rest of the league. If flin flon is as good as the bomber fans have been hyping them all year (and don’t take that wrong I believe they are that good too!) this should be a sweep with klippers only scoring about 4 goals in the four games.
Battleford is the only team that should be in for a tough series in first round.

Interesting that charging and interference penalties get called to opposite teams at the same stoppage of play. I'd like to see how that took place.

moving away next year, and this may have been one of the last bomber seasons i get to see in person depending on how stuff goes. gotta say its really disappointing coming this close in 5 different finals and falling short every year, but this team went out there and gave us good hard hockey for countless countless years, and im beyond grateful for the hockey i got to see. that 2022 run when we lost in 7 to estevan really helped me find my love for the game again. even though over all these years i never saw a championship, i have hope it will come, and am grateful i got to watch countless years of great successful hockey.
