Only in Nip does figure skating get priority on ice time in April. Easy decision, city makes them move their ice up a half hour. Solved. Playing back to back nights when an hour appart is dumb IMO. But I guess not much can be expected of a towns team who's coach goes on radio and talks about blood running down the streets.

I am sure if they wanted to force the issue they could but what is the point of having a Sat game just to make a couple posters on here happy. You don't come to Nipawin to watch anyway. Figure skating is more important to figure skaters than hockey is to figure skaters. If they are having a year end competition it is like our playoffs and if people are coming from other towns I appreciate our coaches for respecting the figure skaters commitment . Why throw a curve ball at them just days before thier event. Besides March 28th is also the Ice Fishing derby as a fund raiser for the Hawks. Towns who only rely on tickets sales won't understand this but teams that have a bank account know you don't change things last minute to make life easy. You work thru it and get it done right, not always conveniently. I suppose now you are mad at God for letting ice melt before the playoffs are over.

Not a huge fan of agreeing with someguy but I do here. Those skating clubs take a lot of time to organize this event. And who cares if it's a Sunday? Nice early 6pm game and I don't feel obligated to drink!

I'm talking about game 5/6 April 4th and 5th. As a parent with a figure skating daughter, I've never seen them schedule their carnival/competition on a monday forcing parents to take a day off work. Seems odd to me is all I'm saying. Must've been some reason Bill Chow had to step in and make a ruling.

If Melfort goes to the final against kindersly, the palace could see THREE NUT JOBS IN ONE PLAYOFF SEASON

I am sure the comment was as serious as your avatar. IMO. I just keep adding comments to see if we can get more replies than the record setting FF threads. "It could go the distance" if we are "hard on the sticks" and "everyone buys in". I personally thought the FF / ND thread was dead cause the mine was in "shut down."See - non hockey cliches work too!

He was talking smack in a radio interview again. Expects the streets to be filled with blood because the teams hate each other. Typical doug Johnson interview. He's the main reason Melfort takes this series in 5 or less. His hatred from playing days makes him to emotional as a coach. He's going to lose it at some point, then his players will become undisciplined, then its lights out.l

I have added a poll

The poll should be how many games will it take Melfort to eliminate Nipawin, 4 or 5.

I hear very few tickets left for Friday or Sunday games. Should be good moneymaking series for both

Was told 1700 seats sold already in Melfort, including one to a life size chicken. Should be a good time.

Funny how no one has voted for Nipawin yet must be to keep the underdog status alive and motivate Nipawin players to think everyone is against them and they have nothing to lose

If you lose its like " Whatever, they are the 1st place team". If you win its like "OMG WE ARE SO GREAT!! WE WERENT EVEN SUPPOSED TO WIN!! LIKE, CAN YOU EVEN RIGHT NOW? BECAUSE I TOTALLY CANT EVEN!!" I bet you barely any Nipawin fans will even vote.

I don't understand all the uproar and debate over the game 6 ice time. We all know it's not getting that far, Melfort makes short work of the far less talented Hawks, winning in no more than 5, but more likely a sweep.

If it goes more than 5 I like Nipawin odds. Less skill harder working and more physical hockey team. Melfort does have hockey team that could quite easily eliminate Nipawin in 4 or 5. If this series goes 6 nipawin wins and can thank the figure skating club for making the poor Mustangs play back to back.

Weyburn tried the whole physical option and discovered themselves down 3 to 4 goals in the first period, each time they started out with this game plan. Melfort is just to deep and to fast.

HAHAHAHAHA, "Harder working" "More Physical" boy o boy, I don't think we have been watching the same Mustang/Nipawin teams this season, Melfort's D might be the grittiest biggest, most talented D core I've seen in the SJHL for many years, Melfort can be as physical or more than any team in the league, if Nipawin wants to make it a physical series, they will be in for a looooooooooong 4 games, the only way Nipawin wins a game is if they lul Melfort to sleep with a trap style nutural zone, and hope that Melfort can't adjust or that the sheer talent of thier offence doesn't overwhelm Nipawin. The Hawks take to many penalties and the Mustang PP has been eating teams up all year, if Nip tries to get physical Melfort will push back with physicality of there own, and the Hawks will follow with penalty after penalty, it will be over before Johnson knows what is going on, I suspect he will spend most of the 2nd and 3rd distracted by the kids behind the Hawks bench.

If a team isn't ready to play back to back games at this time of the year theres got to be something wrong . 18 to 20 year old players if there not in shape by now they will never be in shape .This is the best time of there lives you only get one chance to play JR. Hockey so GO HARD OR GO HOME !!!!!!!!!!!!
