I'd have a hard time cheering for nipawin, but not as hard as humboldt. From the time I was little, the Broncos have always been better, it grinded my gears watching them take us out of playoffs every second year. Other than that, I'd cheer hard for any other team, especially Flin flon. Like beating flin Flon but have always liked their history and crazy ass fans

Gonna be famous! L4D

is it true at wcc they can dress 9 20 year olds a game. this is because of mjhl and being allowed to dress 9 20 year olds.

The MJ cannot dress 9 20 year olds. If you have more than 8 20 year olds in any league, only 8 can dress any given game.

The MJHL is the oldest junior hockey league in the country. It falls under the western zone of the CJHL. Players in this league range from ages 16 -20, but most often they are at least 18 years old. The league also allows a whopping nine 20 year-olds to dress each night. It aims to move players through hockey while keeping their education options open, including sending players to Major Junior.

Told directly from the gm of the Mustangs. The only team with 9 or more in the tournament is Melfort who carries ten. I haven't checked rosters and confirmed though.

Yep 9 20 year olds can dress. Sounds like big Boomer is in the lineup. What a tough bugger. I have to admit I wish we could somehow play Nipawin again in the WCC and than maybe again in Portage. As long as we win that is. Haha. Enjoy the WCC, I guess we see what the other leagues are made of because the Stangs are stacked and focused!!!

A little off topic but Regina Pats Canadians are 5-0. And are in semi finals.. Would be nice again if junior A and AAA teams from Saskatchewan win there respective national championship.

announcers are a little bias stating that these are the two top teams in the tournament. hope mustangs and portage kick some but against those teams.

From a statistical standpoint, the Mustangs are one of the strongest SJHL champions in recent memory....and, of course, an SJHL team won it all last year. And the last time an MJHL team hosted the RBC Cup (Dauphin, 2010) they went 5-1 at the RBC.....but the Kings weren't as dominant as the Terriers were this year. Portage and Melfort will be fine.

Pendicton is just dominating Spruce Grove! 3-0 5 min left not to put words in your mouth but you actually meant 5 minutes into the game - right. 2 -0 before the 1 minute mark 4-0 at 7 minutes. SG did improve through out but what a poor start. Might not mean too much as 4 of the 5 make the playoff round. Just curious of some opinions - Do teams from the west have an advantage at the RBC because they have already played one of the RBC opponents, possibly twice and possibly 2 teams this yr - possibly twice where all teams rom the east come in without ever seeing a team play let alone have 2 chances to play them before the RBC tournament. IS IT HELPFUL? Do we care if the west gets an advantage?

If RBC was hosted in the east it would be the same, they do the same Tourament format in the East.

announcers are a little bias stating that these are the two top teams in the tournament. hope mustangs and portage kick some but against those teams. They also said last year that the BCJHL and AJHL were the top 2 teams in the WCC last year. We all know who went to the RBC,,Yorkton and Dauphin and no teams from the other 2 provinces. I find that both the AJHL and BCJHL are arrogant and think that their sh..t don't stink. They have always thought they were better and I hope again this year that Portage and Mustangs put them in their place.

If RBC was hosted in the east it would be the same, they do the same Tourament format in the East. The RBC host could host 4 teams they have never played. There is no guarantee a team from their league will make the final 5. Since 2 teams go from the WCC they are "guaranteed" to have someone there they have played before, and very recently. I know it only affects one maybe 2 games but it could be the advantage that makes the difference. So what's the best solution? Answer, - IMO, the Anavet Cup. Some think the next meeting agenda has discussion on removing the WCC - anyone hear more about that?

The Anavet cup will come back but with a different name, most likely a sponsorship. After 2016 every province will have tasted this awful piece of garbage and it will be no more

First 30 min Melfort stood around and watched, guess the 10 days off had them flat footed.

Awesome finish by the Mustangs after being shafted with a very poor icing call in the last minute. The guys will gain a lot of momentum from that finish. Showed a lot of character. The tournament committee should string that linesman up by the thumbs at the rink entrance.

Been keeping an eye on penticton and we are going to be clear underdogs in this matchup. We have lots going for us though! Palmer is playing like a championship goalie, our defence is getting better with every game, we have goals coming from more than just the minion line, and it's only a matter of time before Mayan unleashes and pots a couple good ones!

Anyone catch the melfort-SG game on fast hockey last night? Wow what a homer the color guy was anyone know if he's doing all the games? He made it sound like an NHL team was playing a echl team(melfort), he called sjhl a weak league countless times despite winning RBClast year and iI believe the sj has more national championships. The sj doesn't have great scholarship numbers the game here is played like the pro game more then any other junior A loop, physical, hitting, cycling etc hence lack of dig. 1 schollys. Lots of cis, sphl players that do move on. I think scouts do their teams great disservice by not scouting tthe sjhl heavier the league produces COMPLETE team players...
